I've been away from my blog for a long time, lots of things happened. Supercon was freaking amazing, got a new job, started building wearables, have a bunch of new projects, did a lot on the speedometer, broke my car, so much stuff! But that's not why I'm posting today.

I needed wanted a wallabag server. Wallabag is a bookmark manager thing(?). I also wanted to be lazy and use docker (Ha, using new technology to be lazy). The docker image for wallabag only works on x86, so I created a new scaleway server on an x86 platform. Same price as my arm servers too! Less storage though. Ah well. Basically, I followed this guide. It was extremely helpful, although I did need to do some more stuff than was mentioned. In order to get letsencrypt working, as well as traefik working with SSL, I needed a wildcard DNS entry, basically *.subdomain.ab1tj.com. With that, the rest of the install went fine. Although I'm still working on it, so more to come?

Problem: I wanted portainer, so I followed the instructions in the above blog. However, it looks like it was massing a line in the portainer configuration. I was getting Unable to locate Unix socket or named pipe as an error. I was missing the - /var/run/docker.sock:/var/run/docker.sock in the volumes section of the portainer docker_compose yaml file. Silly me
